The Black-Crowned Night Heron is the most wide spread heron in the world.
It is found in most of North America except the southwest and an area north of there. It migrates in big flocks and breeds on every continent except Antarctica and Australia.
It is found in fresh and saltwater habitats, marshes, lakes, streams, swamps and agricultural areas.
You may want to see them using bird watching binoculars to avoid getting too close.
