Tyrant Flycatchers are found in the Tyrannidae family and make up the largest bird family in North and South America. Most of these birds are found in the tropics. They are small to medium sized birds and are duller in color, mostly olive-greens, pale yellow, brown or gray. Typical behavior is for them to sit upright on a branch and then fly out from their perch to catch flying insects. Their heads are large for their body size and most have stiff whiskers around their flat bills. Some have eyerings.
