Hawks and Harriers
The Accipitridae are birds of prey. The birds in this family are divided into several sub-groups which have some important differences in the way they look and behave. They are diurnal birds with hooked bills and strong talons. They have keen eyesight and are very agile. They eat rodents, reptiles, and mammals. Some eat birds, insects and fish. The males are usually smaller than the females and in the case of the Northern Harrier are entirely different in appearance.
