Waterfowl like ducks belong to a group of birds called Anatidae. These birds have some form of a “duck” bill and webbed feet. These birds also go through a molt and lose their feathers all at one time. This loss of so many feathers leaves them flightless for a period of time until new flight feathers go in. The Duck catagory includes whistling ducks, surface feeding ducks, diving ducks, stiff-tailed ducks, and mergansers.
